TESTIMONIALS
The first day I worked with Dominique was the last day I used. I was slowly getting to the jumping off point in the years leading up to that meeting and she gave me the courage and compassion I needed to take the first step towards recovery. I have lived over 1000 days clean and sober since.
Dominique is extraordinarily caring, empathic and selfless. Unlike other counsellors I worked with, she encouraged me to move on from regular sessions a few months into my journey. I have worked with her for specific issues and for tune up sessions since. Everyone i know taking their first steps in recovery, I encourage to speak to Dominique. She helped me change my life and for that I am ever grateful. Tommy J. |
Dominique has been an integral part of my recovery from day one. With compassion, skill and humour she supported me in navigating my way to a better life. Dominique helped me with the many practical pieces of my unmanageable life. There were so many things I didn’t know how to do! She helped me to connect to and take care of my body that I had spent a lifetime abusing and offered me the opportunity to see things from a fresh perspective. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to work with Dominique, to have freedom from the prison of addiction and so much hope for my future.
E.N. As a very skilled yoga teacher, Dominique has a detailed and nuanced sense of physicality. She is able to direct my attention in focused and specific ways to achieving proper breathing, movement, and position. I know her influence will be an enduring one. Dominique teaches me how to develop and use my yoga practice as a tool for self-awareness for empowerment and equilibrium. Sara |
When is she coming back? This is the question I consistently hear from clients after Dominique visits our centre. In our residential treatment centre for addictions and mental health, we serve some of the most marginalized men in our community, coming to us from homelessness, criminal justice system and many other challenging situations.
After the sessions, the men come away with easy to do centering practices they can engage in on a daily basis. The reported outcome from clients includes better sleep, less reactive, more hopeful, and an improved overall sense of wellbeing. Dominique’s passion for her work and recovery is contagious. The impact she has on clients is still evident well after she is gone! Terry Regan Program Support Worker Kinghaven Recover Centre Abbortsford, BC |
